Answer to yesterday's trivia question:
A baby as a symbol of a new year is credited to the Greek celebration of their god of wine, Dionysus. A baby was paraded around in a basket representing the annual rebirth of Dionysus. Early Babylonians are said to have started New Year resolutions and the most popular resolution at that time was to return borrowed farm equipment. The New Year's Eve kiss is an indication of luck and to ward off coldness in a relationship in the upcoming year.
