Weighing myself is one of my least favorite things to do, but for some reason, I did it this morning and couldn't believe I've already dropped 13.5 of my 15-lb pledged, and it's only March 12! Which means I'm talking about the Pound For Pound Challenge (for every pound lost and reported, 10 cents will be donated to Feeding America, up to $500,000). There's still time to make a difference for you and someone in need of food! See how it works.
So, I'm feeling pretty good right now. Some of you may have read my January 7 blog when I signed up for Pound For Pound and "went public" about it in Join Me - I'm Inspired!. I'm doing my best to "walk the talk".
How have I done it? By using the EatBetterAmerica.com philosophy of "small, doable steps to eat - and live - better". Paying close attention to eating less, drinking lots of water and eating even more veggies, fruits and whole grains is paying off. I'm also watching carbs but haven't cut them out (glucose tested slightly above average at January annual physical). I still enjoy an occasional taste of dessert and can't think of anything I've totally cut out. And, yes, I'm trying to move/exercise, but that's the area about which I'm the least disciplined! (People who thrive on routine just don't get that.) Even my husband's lost weight, though he won't share how much.
C'mon and pledge right now - from today until May 1, "we" - yes, I'm including you - have exactly 7 weeks, and that's enough time to make a real difference! Let's work together to take off the weight and Help Feed America. After all, spring is in the air so summer can't be too far behind. For those of you who have pledged already, we truly appreciate the help and hope your clothes are growing as well.
Please share how you're doing and the best weight loss tips you've discovered.
P.S. I marked my calendar for May 1 to go back to PFPChallenge.com and report my weight loss. Reporting is critical to the success of the program and that must be done between April 1 and May 5. Yup, I'm taking the longest time so I can report as many pounds as possible! ;-)
