These waffles are great! Even my kids love them! I used brown sugar instead of regular and I used almond extract instead of vanilla. The nutty flavor with the grains is awesome! Topped with strawberries and sugar free syrup...yum!

These waffles are delicious! A very hearty tasty waffle. The only change I made in the recipe was to substitute the oil for applesauce, and they still turned out great! I can hardly wait to make these again!!!!

Whole Grain Waffles
This is an execellent recipe for those who like whole grains. I made a few changes and they still came out wonderful! I stirred in an entire shredded apple and substituted the sugar for a tbsp. of unsweetened apple juice concentrate. I also used a tbsp. of ground flaxseed instead of the egg. I read from another reviewer that flaxseed can somehow substitute for eggs in baked recipes and bingo, it worked! The rule is you use on tbsp. of ground flaxseed and 3 tbsp. of water for each egg. If adding the apple, you should probably reduce the buttermilk by maybe 2 tbsp. to allow for the juice added by the apple. These waffles would be sweet enough to eat plain but you could also add raisins for added sweetness. These take longer to bake than regular waffles, a good five minutes or so depending on your waffle iron.

amazing
i love these waffles! they taste so good and u can change an ingredient in it to make it a little healthier. for example, instead of buttermilk i used soymilk. Also I used honey instead of syrup, coconut instead of vanilla, and blueberries/strawberries.

waffoos
Easily one of my favorite recipes on here!
I've made these at least 4 times in the last two weeks and now I'm all out of vanilla. Tragic.
Some how the texture really isn't too much different from normal waffles and I've actually come to prefer the taste of these!
