Low-Fat Chocolate Chip Angel Food Cake

Heavenly angel food cake is speckled with chocolate chips. For chocolate nirvana, drizzle each piece with chocolate syrup! From eatbetteramerica.

makes:12 servings

1	box (1 lb) white angel food cake mix
	Water called for on cake mix box
1/2	cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
	Chocolate-flavor syrup, if desired
	Fresh berries, if desired

1.	Move oven rack to lowest position (remove other racks). Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake mix as directed on box--except gently stir chocolate chips into batter. Bake, cool and remove from pan as directed.
2.	To serve, cut into 12 slices. Drizzle each slice with chocolate syrup; top with berries.

chocolate chip sink

I somewhat solved the issue of the chips sinking and burning while baking...I sprinkled them on just before I put the cake into the oven..some did reach the bottom, but most stayed up...and none burned...I used a glass loaf pan...and baked at 325 degrees using my convection oven for 40 minutes....very tasty....

TERRIBLE RECIPE

This was the WORST I agree!!! Thought I would try it even though there was a bad review - tried to make the chips smaller in the food processor but that didn't work - exactly like they said - chips all sank to the bottom and burned the bottom of the pan and the cake got stuck. It was terrible - TERRIBLE ended up with a store bought angel food cake for mother's day.

This was a disaster. All of the chocolate chips sank to the bottom and stuck to the pan, so I dont even know how it tasted!
