Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

This healthified Apple Crisp doesn’t fall far from the original recipe. Who said “an apple a day” doesn’t include dessert?

healthified recipe
This healthified dessert is good to the core. By using fiber-rich whole-wheat flour and oats, we were able to add a third more fiber. Reducing the butter helps to cut fat by 50%, too.

4 cups sliced peeled apples > 6 cups sliced unpeeled apples
1/2 cup all-purpose flour > 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar > 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter > 1/4 cup butter
added apple juice concentrate and cinnamon to apples
