Daniel Family

The Daniel family—Sano, Russell, Ahmad, Romar, Jada, and Cimeon—live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sano, the mother of the household, arranged to have Eat Better America secretly tape her family’s eating habits and hold an intervention to healthify the Daniel family’s food choices.

Sano Daniel

Sano is a patient, talented, and busy mother of four, in addition to her work as a daycare provider and foster care parent. When she’s not supporting her children’s activities and education, she enjoys dancing and gardening.

Russel Daniel

Russell is an active foster care parent and a do-it-yourself father. Russell enjoys home improvement activities, spending time outdoors, gardening, and going to the movies.

Ahmad, 16

Ahmad is a top-notch student and is preparing to get his permit now that football season is over. He stays active as a tap and hip-hop dancer, as well as a football and track star.

Romar, 14

Romar keeps busy with violin practice, tap, hip-hop, and krump dancing, as well as playing basketball, football, and track. He also maintains a straight-A record at school.

Jada, 11

Jada, an actor in the making, performs in plays and has appeared in several TV commercials. She is also a jazz, hip-hop, and ballet dancer, in addition to playing tennis and track, and maintains straight A’s.

Cimeon, 8

Cimeon is animated, funny, and loves the stage. His love of acting has landed him roles in “how-to” videos and commercials. He is also a hip-hop and jazz dancer, in addition to playing basketball, football, and wrestling.


Rebecca Corry

Rebecca Corry

Host of "BAAAD HABITS!"

Stand-up comedienne, actress, and TV host, Rebecca Corry was born and raised in Kent, Washington. She began her career in show business after moving to Chicago, where she studied writing, acting, and improvisation at The Second City, Annoyance, and Center Theater.

After eight years in Chicago, Rebecca moved to Los Angeles, where she landed a one-woman show with HBO, shot a pilot for the Oxygen Network, and was chosen to perform as a "New Face" at the Montreal Comedy Festival.

In addition, Rebecca landed a role in the feature film "Big Fat Liar,” and guest-starred on numerous TV shows, including “Yes, Dear”, "The King of Queens," and "The Wayne Brady Show.” She also beat out thousands to become a finalist on NBC's "Last Comic Standing 4,” and has performed at stand-up clubs such as the Improv, the Comedy Store, and the Laugh Factory.


Tamara Schryver

Tamara Schryver, PhD, MS, RD

Nutritionist

Dr. Tamara Schryver is a Senior Scientist in the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition, General Mills, Inc., located in Minneapolis, MN. Her areas of expertise include nutrition education, nutrition communications, and the eating behaviors and attitudes of humans.

She oversees the nutrition outreach program, research, and content development of the WIC General Mills program, which donates money and over 1.5 million pieces of free educational material to WIC clinics. Schryver was also an advisor and judge to the General Mills Foundation Champion’s Grant program.

Prior to joining General Mills, Tamara researched the attitudes, behaviors, and soy consumption patterns of consumers shopping in mainstream and natural foods grocery stores while working at the University of Minnesota.
